Mississippi Polymer Institute’s Workforce Development short courses are specifically designed to improve your company’s overall profitability and to help advance the polymer industry in Mississippi.
MPI will work with you to tailor the content and format of each of our courses to the specific needs of your organization. Each course is available on-site and off-site. In addition to training courses, we will work with your organization to implement many of the concepts that we teach. Our courses are interactive, and participation is encouraged to achieve content mastery.
Growing polymer technology competency around the state
MPI offers polymer workforce development beginning with our high school polymer technology programs, located around the state of Mississippi. The high school curriculum is an industry-based program introducing students to polymeric materials, Computer Aided Design (CAD), and polymer processing such as injection molding, extrusion and thermoforming. Students have access to hands-on learning through our job shadowing program and are encouraged to then teach what they have learned to elementary students.
Upon graduation from the high school polymer technology program, students can work towards a degree in Polymer Science at the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy levels at the University of Southern Mississippi.
