MISSISSIPPI POLYMER INSTITUTE TEAM
Mr. Thompson has more than 20 years experience in industrial assistance and has been a driving force in the growth of the Mississippi Polymer Institute.
He has served as a technical service provider, operating manager and assisted in defining the strategic mission of the institute. He is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi holding a bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science and a Master’s of Business Administration.
Testing Services & Quality Leader
With more than 13 years experience in polymer research and development, Mrs. Bayley is a subject matter expert in the
areas of materials science, analytical and physical testing.
Mrs. Bayley has focused expertise in ASTM testing on a wide range of instrumentation, including advanced microscopy, physical properties testing and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Mrs. Bayley holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi’s Polymer Science and Engineering program.
Technical Service & Workforce Development Leader
Mr. Posey joined MPI in 1997 and has worked to grow the polymer industry in the state of Mississippi through all phases of MPI’s operational focus. He has trained thousands of Mississippi employees for numerous Mississippi companies.
He is a NIST-certified instructor for the Lean Manufacturing Suite of courses, a certified plastics instructor and a Six Sigma Black Belt. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science and a Master’s degree in Workforce Training and Development from The University of Southern Mississippi.
Cece Takas Butts
Mrs. Butts has over 6 years of laboratory experience, beginning her career as an analyst for an environmental testing company. Working closely with the School of Polymers and High Performance Materials at USM, she assisted in the research and development of biologically active coatings. Taking pride in organized and quality work, she assists Mississippi Polymer Institute in analytical, physical and thermal testing. She specializes in many test methods and is integral to MPI’s quality management program.
CeCe holds a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
